Undefeated and highly decorated world champion Claressa Shields defends her undisputed heavyweight status against current IBF light-heavyweight, and former IBF heavyweight champion, Lani Daniels.
Shields is no stranger to winning or defending titles. She has been a world champion in 5 weight classes, stretching from light-middleweight all the way to heavyweight, and astonishingly has become undisputed in 3 of them. Of course, this was all done after winning gold in Olympic boxing not once, but twice.
Lani Daniels holds the distinction of being the first New Zealand born boxer of Maori descent to hold world titles in 2 different weight classes. The IBF title she currently holds at light-heavyweight was won in December of 2023, and since then, she has had one successful defence in September of 2024.
There is little doubt that Daniels will come to shock the world, but the prevailing question is not whether Shields will win, it’s whether Shields will be able to showcase her new-found power at heavyweight and add another knockout to her record.
