World champion boxer Claressa Shields will make her MMA debut against Brittney Elkin, June 10th

This is the first installment in the ongoing story of Shield’s transition to MMA since she announced singing with PFL – late in 2020

“This is my main focus,” Shields tweeted. “June 10th it’s time to step in the cage and put my hard work to the test!”

Brittney Elkin (3-6 1KO) has been competing professionally for 7 years and has been in there with the likes of MMA prospect Kayla Harrison (8-0 3KO)

Elkin, 30-years-old, could be the perfect opponent to welcome Shields to the sport as she has a versatile game and the experience to match.

Shields, a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, plans on competing in the boxing ring in 2021 as well – perhaps against WBO Middleweight Champion Savannah Marshall
