Katie Taylor (20-0 6KO) entered the progressional scene with tremendous expectations after a legendary 175-12 amateur career. Since, she has captured every Lightweight Championship in Women's boxing and looks to defend them on April 30th
Amanda Serrano (42-1 30KO) is notorious for being one of the top fighters in the world after unifying titles in seven divisions in boxing and earning a 2-0-1 record in MMA
The general public views this as a speed vs power matchup, which doesn't give these women enough credit for their versatility
Serrano is certainly the most powerful puncher Taylor has ever faced, and it's hard to imagine many fighters she can't keep up with - technically
Taylor is lightning-fast, fights like a boxing genius, and is capable of grinding out an ugly fight - should she ever need to
The major questions are can Taylor take Serrano's power, how will she deal with the body shots, and will Serrano be able to cut the ring off
Worthy of note, Serrano offered to make this fight 12, 3-minute rounds "like the men do" but Taylor turned down her proposal
One would think Taylor may not be in shape for 12, 3 -minute rounds, or she worries about Serrano's power
The fight is currently scheduled for 10, 2-minute rounds.
