Max Holloway (21-6 10KO) faces Calvin Kattar (22-4 11KO) in a five-round main event bout, January 16th.
The Vegas odds currently have Holloway as a -167 favorite for the bout that will likely put the winner within one fight of a shot at the UFC Featherweight championship.
Holloway, widely considered as one of the greatest Featherweights in the company’s history, is looking to bounce back from two consecutive losses at the hands of current Featherweight Champion – Alexander Volkanovski (22-1 11KO).
Although Holloway has suffered two consecutive losses to Volkanovski, their second bout was so close that a third bout isn’t out of the question and a victory over Kattar – combined with one over another contender – could earn Holloway another shot.
Kattar, one of the division’s hottest prospects, brings in a two-fight win streak including an impressive knockout victory of Jeremy Stephens (28-18 19KO) in May.
He is only on a two-fight win streak but has put together performances of high enough quality to warrant a title shot following a victory over Holloway.
