Results: DFW’s Hector Valdez and George Rincon open Ortiz Jr. vs Hooker card dominantly

DFW’s Hector Valdez and George Rincon each earned dominant victories to start the Maurice Hooker vs Vergil Ortiz Jr. card

Valdez (14-0 8KO) began the fight patiently studying his opponent, Alberto Torres. As the fight went on, Valdez started picking his shots and scoring powerful right hands mixed with punishing combinations. In the 2nd round, he used a three-punch combination to the body to open up another combination to the head of Torres

Torres had his moments in the fight, and really got Valdez’s attention with a right hand in the 7th round, but most of his successful moments were answered with a smile and a combination from Valdez. When the fight ended, it was a clear victory for Valdez and the judges confirmed it

George Rincon (11-0 7 KO) was even more dominant in the second fight of the evening. His opponent, Luis Solis, was punished early and often, suffering swelling that completely closed his eye before the end of the third 3rd round.

Rincon seemed to land whatever he wanted and wobbled Solis before scoring a knockdown in the 7th round and continuing to punish Solis for another round and a half. Solis show heart lasting the entire 8 rounds in his condition, but Rincon was awarded the unanimous decision victory
