Derek Chisora vs Otto Wallin Tale of the Tape, Undercard, & Breakdown

DelBoy takes the show to Manchester for his last bout on British soil, and quite possibly his last fight altogether. Though an easy touch would be utterly acceptable, Chisora will face Otto “All In” Wallin, a Swedish southpaw that is at the absolute least, a capable boxer, and at the best, a real problem that is quite difficult to solve.

Otto Wallin, unfortunately, is best known for his losses. His introduction to the world at large was a contested battle with Tyson Fury in 2019, where he not only pushed the Gypsy King to dig deep, but also cut him over the eye in such a gruesome way that many were surprised the fight was not called off and the win given to Wallin. Since then he’s had many good showings against respectable opponents, but again found himself in a high profile bout against Anthony Joshua in December of 2023. After four relatively cagey rounds the result was a knockout victory for AJ in the fifth. Wallin added another win to his record in July of last year, and now prepares himself to face England’s favorite son, Derek Chisora.

Derek “War” Chisora, at first glance, has what some would consider a journeyman’s record, but to boxing fans in the know, he is so much more than that. His attitude in and out of the ring has endeared him to the public at large and his propensity to take on all comers, as well as the sheer amount of high profile wars he’s been in, made him one of the most popular western european fighters in the last 20 years. Chisora has shared the ring with almost every major boxer to come out of the British Isles, and many greats elsewhere.
