Benavidez (23-0 20 KO) offered to welcome the Middleweight champion to the Super Middleweight division in a bout that would take place in September
“We can make it happen in September if you really about it,” Benavidez commented under an Instagram post directed at Charlo
Charlo (31-0 22 KO) has yet to compete in the Super Middleweight division in his professional career but expressed interest in moving up to fight superstar Canelo Alvarez (54-1 36 KO) during an Instagram Live video
Benavidez lost his WBC Super Middleweight Championship in August of 2020 due to missing weight before stopping his opponent, Roamer Alexis Angulo, in the 10th round.
He also stopped his two prior opponents and has established himself as the boogeyman of the Super Middleweight division
A bout between the two would feature two powerful, accurate punchers, each with a wealth of potential.
