Former UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis announced Wednesday evening that he has signed to the PFL.
Pettis (24-10 11KO) announced his departure from the UFC via Instagram just three days after his unanimous decision victory over Alex Morono on December 19th
He then announced reaching an agreement with the PFL less than 24 hours later.
The 33-year-old ended his UFC contract on a two-fight win streak, winning three of his last five bouts under the promotion.
In 2010, Pettis defeated Benson Henderson to capture the UFC Lightweight Championship and will compete in the PFL’s 2021 season looking to earn his third world title.
Pettis joins Claressa Shields as the latest superstars to sign to the promotion, which will likely deliver a season full of fireworks starting April 23rd.
