BREAKING: AMC will stream UFC 264 in theaters for less than half of PPV price

AMC CEO Adam Aron announced Monday morning that AMC theaters would be streaming UFC 264 live for just $25

“Many of you have suggested we show live pro sports,” he tweeted. “Esports and events. We are on it. On Saturday July 10, live from Las Vegas, the Poirier McGregor UFC matchup will be on AMC’s big screens at 95 U.S. AMC Theatres. Tickets only $25 vs. $70 on pay-per-view!”

With the addition of pay-per-view sales to movie theaters, numbers should show an increase that will (hopefully) show an increase in fighter pay

UFC 264 is the perfect card to start this trend as it features superstar Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, Stephen Thompson, Gilbert Burns, and even former NFL Defensive Linemen, Greg Hardy

Although the fight will be streamed in 95 theatres around the country, one could only foresee that number growing drastically over the next few years.

This could be big for the sport, its fans, and athletes as well
