UFC Middleweight Khamzat Chimaev shared scary photos showing his battle with an undisclosed illness.
“I was very sick, my hand was injured, so I couldn’t return immediately. I want to tell all the fans that I want to see myself in the fight more than you all. I love this job, I will continue to prove that I am the best as we always do, and I will soon return to training InshaAllah,” he shared (translated).
Shortly afterwards, Chimaev shared a video saying “I come back soon.. for my belts.”

Chimaev is the 9th-ranked UFC Middleweight with an undefeated professional record of 13-0 with 5 knockouts.
Before his victory over Kamaru Usman in October, Chimaev was out of the octagon for nearly a year.
This is a giant change of pace as Chimaev is used to being a very active fighter. In fact, Chimaev won two UFC fights in the span of 10 days back in 2020 and a third just 2 months later.
Hopefully Chimaev recovers in a timely fashion as he chases UFC championships.
