Star on the rise, Jaron “Boots” Ennis (30-0, 27kos) is hoping to shine this Saturday against hard-hitting contender, Roiman Villa (26-1, 24kos)

After “Boots” went the distance against Ukrainian, Karen Chukhadzhian in January, some have been skeptical of the highly touted prospect turned contender. Though the fight lacked a highlight reel knockout, some others would say winning almost every minute of a 12-round fight against a highly skilled professional that decided surviving until the end was the goal, is a pretty damn good performance in and of itself. Regardless of how one feels about the fight in January, a new match-up has come, and with it, another chance to wow spectators.

Villa was last seen defeating another highly touted rising star, “Speedy” Rashidi Ellis. After a long battle that seemed to be going the other way, Villa found the mark and knocked the fleet-footed Ellis down twice in the 12th round, giving him the edge needed to win on the scorecards.

When someone with that much fortitude, power, and perseverance (Villa) is put in the ring against someone with so much visible skill, speed, and flash (Ennis) fireworks are all but a guarantee.

Tune in to Showtime this Saturday and let’s see how this thing shakes out.
