Claressa Shields vs Franchon Crews-Dezurn 2 Breakdown
In November of 2016 Claressa Shields and Franchon Crews-Dezurn welcomed one another to the professional ranks in the super-middleweight division. After all this time they are set to meet in the ring once more. While they are both currently world champions, all the belts on the line belong to Shields, as the fight will take place at women's heavyweight where Shields has the distinct honor of being undisputed champion.
Their careers began at the very same opening bell, but they would not necessarily be considered parallels. Shields has since fought 16 times from super-welterweight to heavyweight. She has not only remained unbeaten, but has acquired an astounding 18 major world titles, and has become undisputed in 3 of the 5 weight classes she has won those titles in.
Crews-Dezurn has stayed at super-middleweight for all but one of the 11 bouts in that time, becoming undisputed at one point. And after losing the titles to Savannah Marshall in 2023, she has been able to win back the WBC as well as the WBA belts making her the current unified super-middleweight champion.
It is no secret that they have remained friendly throughout the years. Soon, they will morph from friends into competitors, and all that will matter is who's hand will be raised after the final bell.
